Navigation Inquiry

Hello,It's Mase here with my Navigation Inquiry. For this,we had to ask a question about navigation,find the information and then make an inquiry about it. Aerodynamics

Aerodynamics are the study of how planes and other solid objects have fluent motion through the air. The four forces of Aerodynamics are WLTD (Weight,Lift,Thrust,Drag),said forces making an object move up or down and quicker or slower. Weight is the amount of gravity that is then multiplied by the mass of said object. So for example,a kite is smaller than a jet,therefore the kite has less weight to overcome,meanwhile a jet is bigger in mass and has more weight to overcome. Lift is the force that allows objects to fly upwards. Planes can provide lift because of their wing design. The wings are curved on the top and are flat on the bottom,therefore there is less air pressure on the top wing and more air pressure on the bottom side of the wing,giving it that lift. Thrust is the force that pushes objects forward and planes support this by propeller or jet engines (Depending on the size of the plane). Drag is the force that tries to pull back on a object. Drag is dependent on resistance,such as running through water. Air gives less drag than water, and airplanes can resist more drag because they are narrow objects.

Kaiarahi Conference

On the Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, me and the rest of the kaiarahi took off from Kawakawa to Auckland for our leaders conference. At about 7,we had arrived at our motel after a LONG road trip (relieved...) and had checked in before going out to dinner at a place called Lone Star. We also got the chance to have a ride around on a Lime Scooter. Once back at the motel,we got into the bed and knocked ourselves out. At 7 in the morning,we got out of bed,had breakfast and watched a bit of TV and had some laughs. At 9,we hopped into the van and sped off to our conference at the Vodafone Centre at Manukau. During the five or six hours there,we had a good time listening with speakers such as Hana Tapiata, Lehan Stemmet and even Ronnie Taulafo (WHAT'S NOW!). After the conference, we had some Krispy Kreme (Problem?) and some KFC and left for home. Overall, it was a good event,the speakers were interesting and it was pretty fun to see Kings play live at the end. It was worth the mere 10$ to attend and I hope the Kaiarahi of next year have a really good time.

ANZAC Parade

Last week, on the 25th of April,I was involved in the ANZAC march. For this event, we marched from Gillies Street to the War Memorial Park. From there, current men and women in service would line up in their service lines (Air force, Fire department and Police), while retired members would have their own separate seating. The service chiefs and some school members would then lay down their wreaths (after Bubble spoke and the other memorial acts ensued) and returned to the parade line. After that, The last post would play with the coming down of the flag, and then reveille would play after that. The last ode would also be recited, and the head girl and head boy of the college would recite their own poems. After a song and the national anthem, the parade would be separated and the people would resume their day as normal. Overall, I enjoyed the parade and, thinking about what these soldiers went through for our freedom, I could not be more grateful.

Hello, I'm back for another term. So, coming back with a positive mental attitude meant it was refreshing to write another piece. Honestly, I didn't really find it hard to write this. I decided to write about this because it was a very good parade and it was nice to be there. Anyway, hope it catches your interests. See Ya!

Jury Nullification

Jury Nullification is a concept that the Jury find the defendant not guilty because they do not support a certain government law,do not think it's a law good for human rights or do not support the said punishment out of the guilty outcome. This concept also works for sentencing people that are Not Guilty,because they do not believe in a certain law. In America in the 1850s, Jury nullification was used to appease the freedom of slaves,that was protected by Secretary Of State David Webster. It was also used after the civil war, where the jury decided to keep the White Soldiers (who were then accused of crimes by dark colored soldiers) safe,despite large amounts of correct evidence.

Hello,My name is Mase and this is my last piece of free writing for the term! For this, I decided to write about Jury Nullification because I was reading a bit of it before and so I decided to research more on it,so that was that. Anyways, I hope you enjoy and next term,it will be back...:)

Te Reo Mahi

For the past term, We have learning a lot about how to speak in Te Reo. We have been learning some sentence starters such as "Ko Wai Te O? (Who is the Relative of Who?)" and "E aha ana a _? (What is this person doing?)" Through these activities,I have not just learnt Te Reo,I've learnt a bit more about my friends. We have also been learning actions in Te Reo and also about Maori gods,not to mention we have also been learning a new karakia to go along with our learning. So overall,learning Te Reo has been pretty enjoyable and I hope we could be able to do some more.

Womens suffrage history
