The Great Depression

(This is for Free Writing and I decided to write about the most severe economic depression ever. Hope you enjoy!)

The Great Depression was a devastating global economic depression that took place in the early 20th century. The Great Depression started when,on October 1929, a major stock market crash occurred in the United States. The news hit hard worldwide,as most countries were reliant on the industries it's citizens worked in. It hit pretty hard in NZ,as the country was pretty dependent on agricultural trades with the United Kingdom. Although most were hit hard,The League Of Nations stated that Chile was hit the hardest,as 80% of most of the government revenue came from exports of material production trades and,in 1932,The Gross Domestic Product sales had dropped by half of what it was originally. Overall,The Great Depression had hit hard over the US and most countries around the world, especially those that relied on the industry market itself.

  1. Wow Mase, what an interesting topic for your free writing. You seem to have a really good understanding of what caused the Great Depression. How did it affect the general lives of people when it hit?
