MY 2018 REFLECTION

Hello,My name is Mase and this is my 2018 reflection. We were tasked to reflect on our entire year this year. It was quite fun looking back at what I have done this year and it makes me feel like I'm getting old. The easiest part of this was writing this all down and getting the photo,The hardest part was probably looking at my face in the photos. I have enjoyed making this and hopefully the 2019 will be filled as well. Enjoy people!

Ice cream

Hi my name is mase and this is our ice cream slide. We were learning about heat transfer,how to make ice cream and if ice cream could be a breakfast. It was really interesting reading about heat transfer and the science behind it all. I learnt that ice cream is made because molecules huddle together,which makes ice cream a solid,instead of liquid. We made our own ice cream out of breakfast foods which made the BoyBerry. Overall,Making the ice cream was quite fun and it was interesting learning about the process of ice cream making.

Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a type of mental disorder that is characterized by unusual types of behavior,weird speech and confusion between reality and hallucinations. Schizophrenia is caused by certain living conditions which include abuse during childhood,constant drug use and the parental age of a woman at birth,even some rare genetic factors can cause Schizophrenia. For now the common types of treatment include therapy,taking anti psychotic medicine and social training. 50% of people diagnosed will usually not end up recovering while only 20% of people do well and usually recover from it. Schizophrenia can also lead to other mental health attributes such as depression,anxiety and also drug addiction. Males are more severely affected.




I have done this piece of writing for the sense of warning people of what schizophrenia can do to people and also because I do like to research about these kinds of things. Probably the hardest thing was putting all of this into sentences(or what order to put it in...) and the easiest part was writing down all of the research I found of this. Next time I'm gonna work on my organisation. ENJOY!

WW1

World War 1,also referred to as The Great War, was a chaotic amount of events that spanned through 1914 to 1918. It was believed that WW1 was caused due to the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife. In a series of events, Countries in Europe such as Britain and France,were threatened with war by Russia and was declared by the Russian And German people. WW1 had caused over 10 million deaths to civilians and also combatants of the War. 70 million had signed up for war and since the men were out fighting, Women would sign up to be a field or ship medic. Surprisingly,The United States did not sign up till 1917,a year before the war had ended,And even though it was claimed as "The War to end all wars",It was the events of WW1 that had contributed to the 2nd World War twenty years later. Although WW1 was horrifying and ended with a whole heap of casualties,it had sparked the 20th century era of technology as we know it,with planes and tanks having been invented for that time,so it had started up technology as we know it.

Buoyancy

Hello Everyone,My name is Mase and this is my buoyancy activity. For the past few weeks,we have been learning about buoyancy and the factors of what makes things float or sink. The easiest thing about this was finding out all the facts and the hardest thing was finding a big ol answer for it. Maybe next time,I am going to work on learning more about Upthrust Force. Maori Directions PT 2

Hello,My name is Mase and this is our 2nd Maori direction activity. We were learning more directions in Te Reo. It was pretty funny being the guy who was directed because my friend didn't even say it in Maori. The hardest bit was being directed in maori and the easiest part was learning the Maori. Next time I want to learn how to use different words in Maori. ENJOY!

Queen

Queen is a British rock band formed from the previous band,Smile. The band consists of Main Guitarist Brian May and Drummer Roger Taylor,while the lead vocal Freddie Mercury died in 1991 and the bass guitarist John deacon retired in 1996. Queen is recognizable from their hits such as "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Will Rock You" and "We are the Champions" and from that success have sold over 200 milion units of records and albums.

Bendy And The Ink Machine

Bendy And The Ink Machine is a horror game created by theMeatly and was released for PC on the 10th of February 2017. The game follows Henry Stein,A former worker of Joey Drew Studios who comes back after he receives an invitation from Joey himself to come back to the workshop. Things have changed in the workshop as the ink machine brings The Ink Demon to life. Now Henry must escape the old workshop and get rid of the horrible ink creations... The game was released with with 1 chapter,with the 5th and final chapter released last week.

My Writing assesment

This week during assembly practice,I discovered that I had scored a 37 ( Which is a Year 9's level :-) ) on my Term 4 Writing Assessment. It was pretty exciting to learn that I had wrote a explain piece of writing that scored more than my own expectation. When I went to home to tell my mum,SHE WAS SO ECSTATIC! (literally...),So much in fact,she went and told everybody in the AFFCO Plant. So,I am proud of myself an amazing piece of explain writing.

The berlin wall

The Berlin Wall was a Concrete wall that divided West Berlin to any surroundings of East Germany and East Berlin from 1961 to 1989. The German Democratic Republic started construction on the 13th of August 1961,where it was deemed the "Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart" and also nicknamed "The wall of shame". During The revolutions of 1989,the government decided to let Germans visit East Berlin and Germany. Afterwards,souvenir hunters picked away a the walls pieces,so then the government destroyed the rest.

Maori maze activity

Kia ora,My name is Mase, and this is the maze that we did for our Maori activity. We were learning how to give directions in Maori and our task was to navigate someone with their eyes closed through a maze. The directions were Haere Totika(Go straight),Piki Ake(Go up),Heke Iho(Go down) and Ka Tu (STOP).
I found it easy to draw the lines and it was hard to say the words. My next step is to pronounce names in Maori. See ya later!

Spelling activity

Hello everyone! My name is Mase and this is my spelling activity. For this activity,we were learning how to use the long a sound. The hardest thing was trying to find the words(Don't judge...),But the easiest thing was doing the dictation and finding all the a sounds. Next time,I am going to work on finding out more sounds.

THE EXPERIENCE AT MOTAT

During the Term 3 Holidays,Me and my Parents traveled to Auckland for the day to go MOTAT (Museum of transport and technology). During the experience,we found a lot of cool things, such as a camera that takes your photo and puts it up on a big infinitely-moving screen,a giant pair of scissors and even a steam engine imported from the AFFCO in Moerewa! The best thing about MOTAT is definitely the Aviation display,which features a real Avro Lancaster bomber plane with a 22,000 LB (10,000 KG) Grand slam bomb. There is also some Navy Aircraft carrier replicas with a list of names of navy soldiers. Overall, MOTAT is definitely one of my most favorite museums I have ever visited,with tons of fun stuff to keep you from not getting bored!

Hello my name is Mase and this is my Te reo selfie video. We were tasked with making a video talking about ourselves and our interests,except it was shot with us translating it into Maori. It was really nerve-wracking to shoot because generally,I don't speak too much Te reo Maori,but in the end I was satisfied and proud with myself for speaking all of that Maori. It was pretty hard setting it all up and memorizing,but it was pretty easy putting it all together. Next time,I'm gonna work on getting louder with my Maori sentences.
